Changing the color of old 1960′s marble vanity top

www.AllSurfaceRenew.com This project is an exciting one for us today. Most homes have bathroom countertops and integrated sinks that are made of cultured marble (faux marble or synthetic marble) and while they are very durable and beautiful – over time they can become yellowed and dated overall. Our job is to help home owners change the color of these items and renew them , so that they don’t need to be replaced at a much higher cost. We make surface repairs and resurface the countertop and sink area in a combination of colors that resemble the look of stone – and we offer a variety of stone-finishes. This project take us to South Austin, and the homeowner has two nearly identical yellowed faux-marble vanity tops that are from the 1960′s, and they are badly dated and stained from the years of regular use. He was tempted to tear out and replace these vanities, but he had done it in the past and These countertops are perfect for our countertop refinishing process – they are ugly and otherwise in good condition. We quickly get to work and remove old residual caulking on the seams, and tarp off and protect the different areas of the bathroom such as floors, walls, toilet, and tub and tile. We make needed repairs to a couple of chipped away areas and repair a seam, and then get to work on the spray-application. We use a low pressure system to apply the finish that you see, and it gives us the consistent, realistic look that we are going for the look of stone bathroom …
